Girls Fall

The fall season is a fun, low-pressure opportunity for players to continue developing their skills, compete with teammates, and stay connected to the game before the spring season. The smaller teams and increased playing opportunities make fall an excellent environment for athletes to build confidence, try new positions, and continue growing their lacrosse IQ.
Fall lacrosse is played in a 6v6 format, a fast-paced version of the game designed to maximize touches, improve decision-making, and keep players actively involved throughout each game.
What is 6v6?
- 6 vs. 6 (5 field players and 1 goalie)
- Played on a smaller field
- Faster pace with more possessions and scoring opportunities
- More ball touches and playing time for every athlete
New to lacrosse?
Fall is the perfect time to give the sport a try! The 6v6 format provides a fun, welcoming environment for new players to learn the game while getting plenty of touches and game experience.
Registration Information
Players should register for the age level they will play in the upcoming spring season. This helps athletes transition into their next age division while playing alongside their future teammates.
Below are the fall opportunities offered by Farmington Youth Lacrosse Association. Players may register for one or multiple programs based on their interest and availability.

This year, FYLA is offering two fall tournaments for our Fall season:
The Great Pumpkin Shootout
A three-day tournament typically held in mid-October.
- Open to 8U through 14U
- Weekly practices leading up to the tournament
- No payment is due at registration. We will only collect payment once we have enough players to form a team at your daughter's age level.
- The sooner players register, the sooner we can confirm teams—so don't wait to sign up!
Whether your daughter is returning for another season or trying lacrosse for the first time, the Great Pumpkin Shootout is a fun way to build skills, make new friends, and experience the excitement of team competition.
Land of 10,000 Lax Tournament
A one-day tournament held in mid-September for returning middle school players.
- No practices—just show up and play!
- Eden Prairie High School
- Open to girls entering 6th–8th grade
- Limited spots available
- FYLA must have at least 7 girls (6 players and 1 goalie) registered by 8/23 to hold our spot in the tournament.
