Volunteer role - Scorekeeper
Instructions
Scorekeeper position will work two games for each shift.
1. Keep score at table. Scoreboards are provided. If it's windy, large rubber bands and binder clips are provided to secure the score flaps.
2. Keep penalty time. Stop watch is included. Ref will tell you how much time each penalty is.
- Boys penalties are time and a half.
- Girls penalties are two minutes. Always follow what the ref tells you.
Penalties start when the ref blows the whistle. Please count down from 10 seconds to the team that is in the penalty box so they know when they are full strength. There will be situations with multiple penalties. Pen and paper are provided to write down penalties to help keep track in multiple penalty situations.
3. When asked, walkie in the score after each game. HQ will ask for the score after each game so make sure to have your walkie with you. Please don’t walkie the score in on your own, HQ will ask for it.
4. Walkie for endline balls, ref will usually give direction.
5. Walkie for Athletic Trainer when there is an injury.
6. No need to keep time, a central horn sound will start the game signal the start of halftime, signal the start of second half, and a double-horn will signal the two minute warning in the second half, and a long single horn will end the game.
