14U Tiger Lacrosse – YLM State Tourney Details

The Youth Lacrosse Minnesota State Tournament is here! Let’s finish the season strong and have some fun while doing it.

⚠️ IMPORTANT REMINDER: We are at two locations. Saturday is Lakeville South. Sunday is Eagan.

📅 Schedule:

View the official schedule on SE Tourney:

Our first game tomorrow morning is at 9:45 am. 9 am arrival would be great to get gear on! Players should be on the field, dressed and warming at 9:15 am.

☀️ Heat + Hydration + Shade:

It’s going to be a hot one this weekend! We’ll have a few team tents set up near our field locations to provide shade between games. Please have your player head to the team tent area upon arrival. I’ll need a few helping hands to get the tents up each morning — if you’re able to assist with setup, I’d really appreciate it! Bring extra water and cooling towels if you have them — staying hydrated is key!

📋 Tournament Rules:

📣 STATE TOURNEY SCOREKEEPERS:

Saturday in Lakeville:

Game 1: Bakken

Game 2: Cassano

Game 3: Kurtzweil

Sunday in Eagan:

Game 1: Dutton

Game 2: Ondich

Additional games: TBD

📣 STATE TOURNEY CHILL MANAGERS:

Saturday: Timm

Sunday: LaPlant

Thanks to all our volunteers. Appreciate your help.

⚠️ About Playing Time:

As we head into the State Tournament, please know that our coaches primary goal is to compete and win as a team. With a larger roster and a tournament setting, playing time may not be equal in every game. Coaches will do their best to get all players involved, but decisions will be made based on game situations, matchups, and team needs. They appreciate your understanding and support as they focus on giving the team the best opportunity to succeed this weekend.

🧃 A Few Important Reminders from YLM:

Please help make this weekend safe, positive, and enjoyable for all:

No Alcohol: We’re playing on school campuses where alcohol is not allowed. Anyone caught with alcohol on-site will be asked to leave.

Stay Positive:

Coaches coach.

Players play.

Fans cheer.

No sideline or on the field chirping — not at refs, players, or coaches. Let's model good behavior and focus on encouragement and sportsmanship.

Officials: They won’t be perfect — and that’s okay. Neither are any of us. Calls on the field are final. Let’s show respect and keep things constructive.

Tournament Format:

Most brackets follow a two-game guarantee. Teams must win two to advance.

Seeding is based on a long-standing “serpentine” system. If you have feedback or ideas, please pass them along to FYLA to raise at the YLM AGM in November.

Trash: Please help keep fields clean. Pick up team and personal trash so we’re invited back to host sites in the future.

🙏 Huge thanks to our 2025 tournament hosts — Eagan, Edina, and Lakeville — for making this weekend possible during a tight field year.

Let’s represent Farmington with heart, hustle and class. See you at the fields — go Tigers!

*** UPCOMING ***

🥍 Practices: We continue with practices on Mon/Tues/Thurs on non-game days. Please mark availability in Crossbar.

🥍 Next week’s games:

June 9, 7:15 pm in Woodbury vs Woodbury Black

June 11, 7:15 pm in Lakeville vs Lakeville Black

📑 Logging rotation and fill in: Please make sure you’re referencing the first two tabs of the spreadsheet. (Roster Schedule - Summer Season and Rotation). Before people start filling in a second time, we want to give everyone a chance. If none of the first-timers are available to fill in, we’ll then open it up to those who have already filled in once.

🧊 Icebreaker Tournament in Champlin: June 14 and 15. Please mark availability in Crossbar. There is one 14U division for this (not A, B1, B).

📸 Picture night: Monday, June 16. FYLA has the photographer from 5:30-7 pm. I was told the 14U boys could take the early shift, before our game. Stay tuned for more details.

☀️ Summer game schedule: YLM has been making some changes to our schedules due to the fact that they are accommodating change requests from some teams that have a ripple effect to others. They said they expect most of the changes should be done this week so then it will settle down and then they can manage only changes driven by weather. Keep a regular eye on things and let me know if the player schedule/rotation needs to be updated.

🥍 Other tournaments - Woodbury Black and Blue or Centennial Summer Sizzle: Jeff has been in contact with the organizers and is waiting to hear back/confirm possibilities.

Thanks!
